Quarry Pond Center
Geotechnical investigation for design and construction of a retail complex featuring specialty businesses and restaurants overlooking a six acre pond remnant from previous quarrying operations. Encountered unusual soil conditions, including soft, compressible soils overlying granitic rock at variable depths, combined with shallow groundwater, presented several challenges for winter grading. Stabilization measures included lime-treated building subgrade, cement-treat pavement subgrade, subdrainage elements and geofabrics to successfully complete the project.
