Laboratory
Blackburn Consulting has state-of-the-art
laboratory equipment to perform a wide range of
tests for soils, concrete, masonry and asphalt. BCI participates in the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) inspection program, as well as the CCRL proficiency sample program. BCI is accepted by the Division of the State Architect (DSA) to provide testing and special inspection services for public schools.Â
We list some of our in-house tests below:
- Concrete - Compression, Shear, Flexural, Mix Design
- Aggregates - Durability, Gradation, Specific Gravity, Sand Equivalent
- Soils - Strength, Index, Consolidation, Moisture/Density
- Asphalt - Density, Gradation, Extraction, Sand Equivalent
BCI's laboratory personnel are experienced and have various Caltrans and/or ACI certifications. We perform all tests in accordance with the appropriate test procedures, such as American Standards for Testing Materials (ASTM).
